Barrel distortion--better?

Gotta wait out on buying a program with actual lens correction until the taxes come back. So for now I'm still working with my old Photoshop skewing and distorting. The finished shot is fully bracket and blended plus a number of other things beyond the attempted lens correction, the other is a piece to the B&B.

Is this a believable attempt at distorting for now?

You should try your best to get it right in the camera.

The original shot is crooked and the vertical perspective is way off...

I agree. Plus the more you get right in the camera. The less and easier things get in post. Post production I hate. So it's so much better to get it right first. I try to make it so I spend less than three minutes on a photo in post.

Swizzle. I respect your opinion. I hope our past clashes fizzle.

Considering I had to shoot at almost a worms-eye view to avoid being seen through the window, did I at least make the lines better? Or are they just too warped to look realistic?

No windows were covered here and the campus was active, my perspectives mostly had to be low and sometimes at weird angles.

Do that more often. This perspective made a difference for you. Sometimes being forced into a different perspective is awesome. The lines look fine.

Considering you only used stretch & skew, that's a pretty impressive job. The barrel distortion is a separate issue from the perspective. Not sure which lens you are using, but do some research (or in the field experimentation) to figure out where the distortion is worst. Some zoom lenses have pretty bad barrel distortion when they're zoomed all the way out, but which noticeably improves even just slightly zoomed in. Not that it's always possible to back up and zoom in, but it may help.

Agreed. I'm really surprised at the level of distortion in your lens. But really. When you're able to get something with lens correction. It'll be a non issue.
