I wasn't sure if it is possible to drive up close there, neither were they, so I figured I'd ask ya'll

it's actually a ton of equipment to shoot something
too heavy to carry all that way

Only thing to possibly worry about there are crack heads, all you need for them is a bright flashlight and they scatter like roaches. If not just whack them in the head.
