| | | I do like what you've done with most of these photos. The only complaint I have is some of them seem to be rotated too much in one direction or another. I feel like it takes away from those shots. Just my opinion.

| | | I absolutely love the style--very gritty and well done. I also agree that for some of the photos, a slight angle correction may allow for better appreciation of the scene, as the tilt distracts from appreciating the smaller things. Though in the case of #22, the tilt absolutely works because it causes a feeling of tension as you look down the long hallway. I think I remember who you are, and you were taking 7-9 exposures for these, right?

Thank you. I appreciate the kind words… and any advise / criticism is always readily accepted. Anyone who's ever been to Gordon quickly realizes - "Gordon makes it easy on you" (the photographer). It is great place to photograph. I found Gordon about 4 years ago. This was my 2nd entry. It's changed quite a bit since then. DGrau: for HDR - I do 9 exposures bracketed 1@0, 4 up, 4 down. Most of the time - All on manual settings - ie: manual aperture, manual shutter. Most people do HDR on aperture priority. I saw someone the other day trying to do HDR on shutter priority... but who am I to question. Of the 25 released images (above)… 15 are HDR… 10 are not. As for the perspective of Gordon... I was trying to make Gordon look "very raw". Hopefully, I succeeded. [last edit 11/30/2011 8:06 PM by Revolution - edited 2 times]

| | | would be interesting, from a photog critique POV/lesson to have a guessing game as to which ones are HDR vs which are not. I think these images are fantastic. the texture and decay captured is very nice. the non-HDR are somewhat recognizable, but still.. anyhoo.

What, not a Bond fan? We've been hosting the Atl Festicles for about two years now and working to organize groups for meets in other states. or we're just a closely organized group of supervillains bent on world domination. You're choice.

| | | Yeah, nomeus brings up a good point with the names. This seems to be happening far to often here and needs to be addressed. There is a reason the DB is set up the way it is so as not to use location names. I thought we were talking to to folks clearly about this when they came to the event to get the point across. This is why new folks only need to go to Exide, Train Yard and a few other basic locations for the event until they learn the basics. And if that doesn't work than yes, we can always send them on a suicide mission to Simmons.

i disagree with this approach to an extent. suicide missions arent exactly friendly and there is always karma to deal with. however, a valuable lesson i learned about a year ago is.... dont ever go to new and/or big locations with new people EVER, especially if its a location that nobody has ever been to before. now when i say new and big, i dont mean the giant warehouse down the street thats all tagged up with easy access. also, regardless of where new people go, if you give them the spiel about not name dropping and they do it anyway, talk to them about it first and if they continue, part ways. its a process of weeding out, constantly. thousands of people come and go and its rare to find good, solid peeps that stick around.
