| | | I'm aware a lot of people know of this place but thought I'd share anyway. The schoolhouse was built in about the year 1916 and abandoned in the 1960s when the state began consolidating schools. From the road, the building cannot be seen because it is covered by trees. It's not until you get right up on it that you can see parts of the buildings edge and the side door (or lack of door). Because it is such a huge building it was hard to believe how easily it hide amongst the brush. There actually wasn't a lot inside in terms of items except for the chairs in the auditorium, but the building alone was pretty neat. There was a good amount of graffiti, which is to be expected in any building abandoned for over 50 years. The floors were worrisome in spots due to water damage and you had to watch your step so as to prevent yourself from falling through a hole. There was an interesting hole from the top to the bottom of the building going straight through the floors, it appeared as if a meteor from outer space had touched down, but it was most likely an extreme case of water damage.

| | | Nice shots. Is that a metal roof? It looks like it's newer than the rest of the school. If so, where's all the water damage coming from?

| | | Beautiful pictures, I like the one of the door/stairs. Alot of the graffiti looks like they just used a big paint brush, strange.

It's a metal roof but its ancient. There are alot of holes and of course everything under them has rotted straight through.

| | | Nice shots, this place looks really cool. Please don't use the pop-up gallery though, it's driving me insane.
