Cell phone tower dangers?

I read ursusarctos's post about RF towers, and was wondering if there are any similar radiation or other dangers with cell phone towers. I am going to attempt to roof this building (see pic) and there appears to be a directional cell phone transmitter/reciever on top.

	Only if you stand infront of them. Those look like they are in a place which it would be pretty hard to stand infront of, so you'll be okay.

	That type is directional, so most of the danger is in front of them. But I still wouldn't get too close. RF burns are nothing to play with. Also, I don't know what the omnidirectional aerials are on top of the roof; I'd be cautious around them.

	Does anyone know if there are any RF, high voltage or other dangers associated with entering the actual equipment room/hut of a site? Does this danger, and that of standing in front of the actual ariels vary according to network type (GSM, CDMA UTMS, AMPS etc.)? [last edit 5/27/2004 4:33 AM by Citizen - edited 1 times]

	My roofing crew usuially makes a point not to cross LOS with microwave dishes while scurring around perticularly high roofs. We were concerned however about proximity to omnidirectionals.... We're currently looking for information about safe distances from them... I wonder whats behind THAT door?
