Tucson, Az Air Raid Siren Graveyard

Hi all, this is my first post here and it’s not even from my own region. Really nice board! This is a place I’ve known about for awhile and visited last year. It's all of Tucson’s old air raid sirens that would warn the city in the event of a nuclear attack. This place has been picked over by people wanting a "piece" of history or a loud noise maker. I believe there are still some left if anyone wants one, but I’ll warn you, there really heavy. It is located on Houghton Rd, between Irvington Rd and Keystone Rd.

Haha, there's a forum dedicated to these air raid sirens and the people who collect them that I used to be part of. The large number of members from Arizona are actually the ones who have scavenged most of the parts from these.

You don't say! I used to be registered on there as "Conky 2000", but apparently got banned for no reason at all, then re-registered recently as "YvanEhtNioj" (shh, don't tell the mods it's an alt ;) ).

That’s awesome, I won't tell! That board is really strict with rules and if you don't follow them, even for your first posts you can get horrible karma and banned. Once you get the hang of it, it’s an awesome place and sirens are my main hobby. I like anything abandoned, even sirens.

Same with me! That’s why when I visited there I had to stop and take a look. I see you’re from Los Angeles, that city has tones of abandoned sirens. I went through there not knowing of any and saw at least 3 or 4.
