| | Picturesque location in CO < on 9/8/2011 6:22 PM >
| | | Sort of a weird request, but since I have been exploring with my girlfriend over the past year, she has fallen in love with the hobby. Her birthday is in October and all she wants is to go explore somewhere new. Which isn't hard. But I wanted to find somewhere really interesting/nice/picturesque. I can't really ask for locations, but maybe some jumping-off points. Any advice? Greatly appreciate it. Edit: Thread title [last edit 9/8/2011 6:23 PM by kDick91 - edited 1 times]

| | | I guess it all depends on what you call picturesque. One that came immediately to mind is the Leyden Ruins. Not really a pretty place, but it's awesome and creepy. Near perfect if her birthday's closer to Halloween.http://www.uer.ca/...d=3&threadid=90099 And did I mention it's on public land? You can also find some awesome places wandering the plains between Brighton and Greeley.

Picturesque... Well, really I suppose anything UE really would be picturesque haha that's why I love the hobby, but places that are more unmolested usually capture me better. I say unmolested, but I really mean untagged/smashed. Which can be pretty challenging. Those Ruins look amazing! Either way I'm checking those out! If I have to spend a whole day looking for places, that's fine too. As long as I eventually end up somewhere haha. Thanks for the tips though, it's greatly appreciated! EDIT: Actually, I remember someone posting on here about an abandoned neighborhood. I went and found the thread as I was typing this lol http://www.uer.ca/...d=82731&currpage=1 and I would absolutely love to get out there, it seems just perfect. But the location is a secret. And with good reason... But it's still killing me haha! EDIT 2: Found it after tons of Google-mapping ;) I'm probably going to check this place out on her birthday if I can't find anything else. No problem. I know what you mean, it's incredibly difficult to find a place that's been truly unspoiled by taggers/scrappers/idiots. I've been meaning to go to that place, too. Seems like something out of a zombie holocaust flick.

| | | Totally!! I just have no idea how easy it is to be caught there. I want to look inside everything, take lots of pictures, etc.

| | | My only advice is just be mindful of your surroundings. I'm sure there's a cop that checks that area for punks now and again. [last edit 9/9/2011 1:07 AM by PogMahone - edited 1 times]

Unfortunately this neighborhood has been molested pretty bad, it's still interesting but the houses are almost completely empty. Also you should read this thread if you're worried about getting caught: http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=87128

I don't have enough rights to view that But, I'm not worried about being caught, I have been caught more times than I can count haha. Only one trespassing ticket. Which, in Texas, is only $60. Yay! Haha. I'm not worried if the houses are empty, I just wanted to avoid tagging and obvious damage.

Oh sorry, anyway, it is a thread about when a couple careful explorers got caught there and how the cops over reacted big time... Moral of the story, if the cops can't find you right away, they will come looking for you with their guns drawn. I am sure you can still successfully go there and look around with no problems, but you definitely shouldn't go there believing the cops won't really care... Anyway, that is just my advice about that place. Have fun and be careful if/when you do go!

Ugh, I been there too... Sat in the back of a cop car for nearly an hour... Really depends on ho you run in to, but isn't the thrill half of the fun? I appreciate the advice/story. I always keep an eye out. I might just be over protective, but I always make sure to take the memory card out of my camera when entering/exiting. They like to seize them sometimes, it never hurts just to be safe. Thanks everyone for all the help!! I'm gonna have a busy next couple of months!

Thanks for the heads up I'm glad you told me. Someone on here found on garage but I'm not sure I will be able to find it haha I'm sure a big white car driving around isn't the most inconspicuous thing either...
