I know it's been done to death, but I love the place. I went today to climb the blast furnace as I've been wanting to do my whole life, but there were too many people. Also, I thought there were more stairs. I'll do it soon, and I'll post the photos for sure.

Until then, I have these shots. I for sure wasn't supposed to be anywhere where I took these. I'm pleased with the shots I got. There's a few below. The rest are here: http://www.flickr....72157627396487072/

Also, I borrowed a better camera from a friend. I think these would've turned out better if I had used my BlackBerry as usual. Oh well.

It was in the woods kind of off the beaten path. I'm sure it was for their Halloween event called Sloss Fright Furnace as it was pretty close to where they store all the props.

I laughed so hard when I saw it that I had to take a photo. Juggalos are always good for a laugh.

Ahhh ok. That makes sense. Wonder if he was buried next to Ben Dover

Sloss is such a great place, looks like you got inside one of the good buildings. Outside I really like the two cement walls with the crumbling cement floor supports.

Great pictures!

I love Sloss! Have lived in Bham all my life, and I certainly see the furnaces as a symbol of our city. Its such an aesthetically and historically awesome place. You are right though, the place has been done to death, but I suppose thats just a greater challenge to take unique photos! Its too cool of a place to hang up on. I really dig how you captured the clusters of pipes and the fantastic machinery. Oh and as far as the last image of that juggalo, a good friend of mine sent me an image of that through text when he found it....I was in stitches but kinda creeped out. Juggalos and their damn Faygo soda...someone needs to place some by the grave...

I've lived in Birmingham my whole life but never have gone except for Fright Furnace. The closest I've ever been during "normal" times is this one time when I walked the train tracks beside it. Awesome pics man...wish I had your talent!
