Kid's theme park in Georgia. Most around here know what this place is actually called, but it's pretty recent abandonment and it is still mostly untouched, so I hope it stays that way.

took a sibling there not long ago and felt this would soon be its fate.
I remember the place from when I was a child.

It's fun you just have to watch out because there's "something" active right next to it. If I said what it was it would give away the location.

It's not a very big park. From what I could tell, they are still using the indoor part (what used to be the Foam Factory) as a storage building for SFWW. But all of the rides and outdoor attractions are just sitting. I pretty much just waited until SFWW was closing and all the cars were out of the parking lot and went and walked around. The park just closed down back in early 2010 so it's not very interesting to look at as far as decay goes (yet). I was also very disappointed that the inside of the foam factory was pretty much dismantled. That would be wicked fun to run around in! I don't know what's going to happen with the property or how long it will be abandoned, but if it's at least a few more years, this could turn in to a cool spot.

Hopefully it won't. I mean, if people are still slipping in to Six Flags New Orleans undetected, then I am sure the security measures here won't be anything too intimidating. It has the potential to be an amazing spot to photograph after a couple more years of decay. Also, you can probably check out the site more thoroughly after Summer is over and the neighboring theme park closes. The area is probably deserted then.

I know that lots of people like to sneak into the other park during the winter months.

Haha, I guess you could consider that a "temporary" abandonment. That would be fun to explore as well though. Dunne if they have security.

The general area this is in, is kind of ghetto, so it will probably end up getting wrecked a bit. (if this is what i think it is, next to what i think you're talking about)

cool find, glad you got some shots of it when it's so fresh and untouched. You'll have to go back every now and again and photograph the same places over time so you can make a flip book =p

Nice. I wondered how run down the rest of the place looked. Picture #4 was the dead giveaway, as I saw that earlier this summer while visiting the neighboring park, and thought "I need to come back in winter" ;)

I went there today in the middle of the afternoon. Parked in an adjacent parking lot. Walked right in with no issues. Not all that impressive, but still kinda cool. It is so close to it's "neighbor" you have to be careful of being spotted, but with the summer foilage it was really no big deal. Night time would be pretty cool. May try that later. "foam factory" door was open, btw.http://www.flickr....72157627486278898/

Yeah not much left of the foam factory. They use part of the building as an office and most of it for storage...

By the way, here are some other pix. The "foam factory" is indeed storage. Here is the miniature golf "ship" also. I really was just wanting show off the coolest chic in the world, rather than the golf course to be honest

The FF opened well after I was too old to be going to that park. It looks like they converted part of the carousel house. Kinda lame. Carousel houses are always neater than foam playgrounds.

There's a historic carousel in Shelby, NC that still operates. Not abandoned, and I doubt a carousel is ever worth driving out of the way for, but if anyone ever finds themselves in that area and tired of eating livermush and barbecue, it's worth checking out.
