My buddy and I went here today. We got there as the sun was rising and stayed about 7 hours. There was a LOT to see and several buildings on the property to look at.

Unfortunately, the place smelled HORRID. The first building we stopped in was the power plant for the facility. It was missing a lot of walls so the lighting was fantastic and the breeze was cool. When we got to the main facility though... We started dry-heaving as soon as we entered and had to don the bandannas to keep out the funk. It was so bad I could taste it.

I've never found a dead body before, and I'm sure they smell way worse. But this was the worst thing I've ever smelled. Come to find out, half of the lower floor was being used for the storage of about fifty 3,150 lb bags of pesticide powder, and I'm sure that's what the smell was coming from. It was so bad it worked its way into my sinuses and after getting home and taking a shower, I still smell it.

It was totally worth it though. There was a bad ass basement that had been flooded and drained and it didn't smell bad down there at all. And the upper 5 floors or so were vented well enough to not smell so bad.

Most of these photos are from the power plant as the main building was very dark and my camera's pretty crappy. I also (like an idiot) left my tripod in the car so there went all my chances of taking low-light photos.

All photos were taken with my BlackBerry Bold 9000.

The full set is on my brand new shiny flickr page. Linky: http://www.flickr....72157627318045606/

Thanks!

My best guess as to the contents of the jar is some kind of hydraulic fluid or lubricant or something of that type.

Probably apple jelly though.

Either way it looks cool with the sun beaming through.
