I was on my way home and pulled off into this hidden driveway to releve myself, lol. I followed the long drive, through some tall grass. This is what I found...

I notice how most pics are not far from the car. I wonder why...

You drove into someone's driveway, found a garage, and didn't even look inside. Then you posted 22 snapshots of same. Lame.

Yes, most are not far from the car. I simply find a place that I suspect is worth exploring and then get as close as I can with the car. I'd rather have my car close, so I can make a hasty getaway if needed, plus it's got my valuables in it. I was just on my way home, 3 hour drive. Figured I could spend 15 mins. checking this place out.

You took the time to write that on my post? Lame
do you see a house? It wasn't a driveway but more like a overgrown path. It was locked up tight. I tried to get in. But like I say, I was on my way home and came across this pathway which led me to this garage. I wasn't out looking for something to break into. Give me some tips there expert.

I have ran into this situation hundreds of times. Out exploring or maybe just traveling and I find a little path like that so I follow it. Most of the time you find nothing or like what you found a locked up house. Do I post them?? The answer is no unless there is a building I explored and even at that they are rarely posted. I have posted maybe 3 of the hundreds of farm houses I have explored over the years. However they were actually explored.

I think what Redux is getting at is that you didn't explore anything so why are posting photos of a site you didn't explore? In fact if you didn't say otherwise I would have assumed you didn't even get out of the vehicle. When you do post a location maybe pick 5 or 6 good shots and post them. We don't need the shots of the inside of your vehicle.

Redux is giving you some good advice - Try harder!!

Alright, thanks cor. I just needed another point of view. My fault. Sorry Redux.
I just got a little pissed. I went and took pics and posted them, if you like them or not it's up too you. I'm not a professional and never will be. I just find the way people post stuff to be ignorant sometimes.
Cos yeah, someone is going to chase you into the middle of nowhere to steal a camera......
...like this douche. Obviously no one is going to chase me to steal my camera. Perhaps chase me off their property or come in contact with a bear, but anyways I wasn't out for a hike. If I can drive as close to it as I can, then why not. I have everything near me in case something happens to me and then I don't have to walk or crawl 1km to get back to the vehicle. I dunno, I don't see a point reading someone's post and then bashing them for something they wrote. Yes, valuables...no, not my camera. Shouldn't you be out exploring and not picking out little things I say, to rag on? Anyways, thanks for looking.

or come in contact with a bear

You're just digging yourself a deeper hole here bro....

The advice was actually pretty friendly for here, why not go in? This is obviously not in use, could have been some cool stuff inside!

Seriously tho, where I live there are bears, lots. And common I wanted in just as bad as you. It was locked up. With my profession, I can't risk a B&E charge.

There's been next to zero locations posted on the Alberta/BC board for months. So what.... it wasn't an epic explore but it's more then most (myself included) have shown on here in ages. Why be a dick about it??

Just speculating, perhaps this is why the Alberta/BC forum sucks. Throw something up and you get slammed for it.

welcome to UER newbie. Don't let the opinionated asshats get ya down. Go find another one and another one.

edit2:
so i cruise on over to the ontario board to the thread below, another explorer, didn't gain access, a handful of faraway shots. Check out the discussion. They've heard, where is it, curiousity.... nobody posting dickhead comments!

Just thought i'd mention it

I could walk past 40 places locked up and post pictures as if they were an exploration, but they aren't explorations so what would be the point. What this was, was scouting. A location was scouted. No exploring of the location happened...

And really, you're comparing a guarded silo location to a locked garage in the woods? Two different animals.

As for bears, I've run into them several times while scouting and exploring. A bear in the area doesn't mean it's going to hunt you down and kill you.

Here's 3 different ones at a single site.

Yeah i agree. I've found lots of cool places. Unless I enter I wouldn't go to the trouble of posting / bragging about finding an abandon house on the side of the road. More of a tease I guess. Keep trying though man. At least you are motivated enough in this, to post photos right. Keep searching man

When I clicked on this thread I was hoping to see some ingenious way of disguising that your driveway exists.

But then I finally decided that letting 4ft of weeds on it *IS* one solution, and probably a very cheap one.

If you're gonna post up a (I don't even wanna say 'location') a spot where you didn't really have much to see, and as a result, don't have much to show... Go all out and see if you can find a way to make it interesting.

Like this:
http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=93140

Don't be so timid either. You don't gotta give excuses to everyone online for what you did or didn't do or post. Making excuses (especially ones that suck) makes you look weaker than if you just tell someone to fuck off if they don't like your thread.

Give a person a match and they'll be warm for a minute, but light them on fire and they'll be warm for the rest of their life. =)

Jester you missed my point entirely. Yeah we get this wasn't an epic exploration of any sort. Guy is new and clearly timid. I know I was too on my first few explores/scounting missions. The point was and still is, he's making at attempt and trying something new. Rather then shoot the guy a bunch of insults, I'm merely suggesting some encouragement for a guy who wants to get involved. We want to encourage people with interest to become involved, and o some great things. Tell him he sucks, he either won't get involved or he won't come back here to share as he gets better.

I wasn't comparing locations, i was comparing experiences. On the Albera/BC board unless it's an epic explore you get spanked like a misbehaving child. In other boards, there is usually some encouragement and suggestions instead of asshat comments. That's why there's about 3 posts a month over here in the West and dozens a day over there.

at the end of the day, do what you want! i'm just saying that the contingent of DB and postings from Western Canada is pretty sad.... when i know there's great shit explored and to explore out here. if we encourage not discourage, it will get bettter.
