Big Tuna

It's hard to believe from the look of this wreck now, but this restaurant was in the forefront of making Glendale a popular youth area in the bell bottomed 70's. This place was so successful it became a chain. They had some stupid name like Cork and Cleaver or something like that. From something I read in a crappy free paper I threw out last week, the chain was so successful that almost all the managers from the various restaurant's had their own little airplanes, and joked that they were the only restaurant chain with an "air force." Recently 75 former managers came to Denver for a reunion, and that resulted in the article I read, which had a picture of one of them standing in front of the wreck, lamenting it's current state.

After it was that Cork place, it became something else, and that place appears to have died in 2007 by the looks of paperwork laying around.

That's that. Should I bring some of that hot boiling tuna if I make it to the meet?

In other news: here's a little something to keep an eye on.

Give em an inch!
Look, I offered the TUNA...just the Tuna.

Ha, I was daydreaming yesterday of writing a story wherein a scorned housewife goes to an abandoned restaurant and grabs food like that to serve to her husband and his boss at the big "make or break" dinner to discuss his promotion.
If I ever went to this place again, I really would like to bring a can opener and see what that tuna is like. They are getting ready to burst.
