The "do nothing that reflects badly on the UER community" applies to almost everyone posting here. I think many people posting on this thread did not keep this in mind in their reactions to Mike, and have just made thing worse.

With what? I'm just curious... the administration of UER didn't call the police - could UER be held responsible for user of this forum tipping the authorities to apparent illegal activities? Especially when the proof that something was being done was publicly available through Ebay, and your personal information was not given to this individual by the administration of UER. I'm just wondering, is all....
However, you didn't do anything wrong, so you've got nothing to worry about.

No problem. But I'm still curious... what could you sue UER for? I'm not particularly well-learned on the legal system, and I'm interested in what the charges could be.
Ooop... just saw Salt's post. Defamation of character? Slander? I suppose - if it turned out that Mike isn't selling stuff from DSH - that could hold water. However, if he is (or was) selling this stuff, I don't think that there's much he could do.
I very well could be wrong, but I don't know.

I just spoke to a lawyer who has reviewed this thread, and he agree's that UER can be held responsible, as well as anyone who did infact call the authorities, And trust me, I WILL SEEK ALL ACTION. I have a legit reason for everything I sold of how I got it.
DCAM is the department of capitol asset management, Kennith Tilden is the Director, Notice I stopped selling stuff at a certain date,
I infomermed Ken of how I recieved all this stuff, all 8 or 9 items, and he was FINE with it, he told me to stop selling on Ebay. at least untill Avalon fully owned it. makes him look bad. now why was I not arrested that day , BECAUSE I HAVE A LEGIT REASON FOR OWNING THIS STUFF

Like many others, my initial reaction to Av's original posting was a mix of anger and resentment. Even if Mike Digital somehow had permission to take and resell the artifacts...or they were 'discards' as he says, or whatnot...still the bad impression it gives of the entire UE community can't be denied or rectified.
As for BPM's kneejerk action of calling the cops and filing reports...that's just way over the top. With all due respect BPM - you can't selectively turn a blind eye to trespassing while on the other hand choosing to enforce theft laws. Granted, trespassing isn't as serious an offence as theft...but what if the justice system worked the same way you think? i.e. - imagine a judge saying, "He's only a rapist...at least he didn't murder someone." Extreme example, yes...but I'm sure you follow my point. You can't be a 'little bit pregnant' - the law is the law. Either you obey it, or you don't. But walking the tightrope of personally deciding which ones you subscribe to is not an option.
Unless we manage to obtain explicit permission from a property owner to access a location...we're all guilty of breaking the law by trespassing. As much as I despise the shabby ethics of theft-for-profit...turning someone else in is simply the pot calling the kettle black.

There was a discussion between the mods about jumping on the ban button, and there was a majority on "yes". However, including the police and Ebay on this situation was not something discussed by Av, the administrators, or the mods until after they were contacted. Just because we didn't discuss it in public doesn't mean we didn't discuss it at all.
At the very least, I think a temporary ban until the situation was looked into and resolved would have been fine with me. It's too late for all that, now.
