Sideways house

This one has quite a strange story to go along with it, this place used to be a marine biologists house/lab and it was built on a small wharf due to the fact it was placed almost directly on the beach. One night there was a crazy thunder and lightning storm and one of the wooden legs holding this house up was struck by lightning and the house collapsed onto the beach. this all happened when I was around 12 years old. I remember that it was abandoned previous to it being struck by lightning, and I also remember that my aunt would take me there very often to play around. It used to have 2 floors and an attic with jarred specimens of marine and non marine wildlife. The owner of this place had given me permission to play around the house/lab when I was 10 years old. I do however believe he has since died of old age. enough of the talking here are the pictures.

1. These are the stairs that lead to the house/lab.

2. There are exactly 39 stairs to the house/lab when I was younger I found out that the house/labs property number was also 39.

3. This is the sideways house/lab

4. As you can see it is at a quite steep angle.

12. As you can see you have to use a rope to get in and out of the house unless you want to get stuck in there and drown during high tide.

14. My friend looking like a champ in her bunny hat.

15. A view from when we were on our way to go to another abandoned place, I will put pictures up tomorrow after school.

Cool story. Poor house though. You should try to get some shots of it at high tide, I bet it looks pretty neato having the peak of a house sticking up out of the water, angled like that. Good history here, I wonder if there was any crazy stuff this guy did in his lab.

I know the inside used to be so much better, when I went there yesterday to take some pictures I was very disappointed. I will try to get some pictures during high tide sometime. I don't know what he did in his lab but I thought the jars of animals were pretty cool.
