| | | Hey guys, I went out a little while ago and did some really amateur light painting, but I'm pretty happy with the results. Let me know what you think. 1.

These pictures were taken with a Sony DSC-H20, so they're not the best quality, and the longest exposure I could do was 30 seconds.

| | | While I was doing the SMILE thing, some guy walked by and gave me the weirdest look. Imagine a kid, late at night, waving a flashlight at a wall with a camera set up behind him. Probably thought I was high.

lol! Like Canadavey said, you have the concept down now just keep painting and soon you'll be doing crazier, more intricate things with sometimes cool results. There's a place for everything. Some people lightpaint the shit out of every place they're at and every photo they take (similarly: HDR) and it gets tiresome to look at - fast. It's a cool concept - another tool, if you will - that you have at your disposal. Learn, practice, use it wisely.

| | | Not sure how your camera works, but the exposure setting might have the "bulb" option. This basically means the shutter will stay open as long as you want. On my camera, you click the shutter (or better, remote) once to open it, and click it a second time to close the shutter. This can give you exposures as long as you like.
