Today was a productive day for SP.E.C.T.R.E. Our recon mission was an incredible success, a perfect day of exploration. Splitting into two teams we learned many important details on our target, details that weren't included on our secret treasure map (which we left at home, of course). This new information, combined with our map, will ensure SP.E.C.T.R.E.'s success in our future endeavours down under.

Between finding our official mascot, SPECTRE the Fox, and become infamous celebrities for a day, we made off very handsomely. I know that Little Brittle, Once-ler and redSky have their much better pictures and their own interesting facts of the day to contribute as well, so look forward to those.

Great pics as always. Once-ler is the one with the pic of the fox tightroping along a narrow pipe up in the ceiling. I'm glad he photographed it because otherwise no one would believe us.

This is from inside the main entrance.

Now this is just creepy. It appears to be a pool of blood. Which makes sense because we found it in one of the operating rooms. What doesn't make sense is that the building has been abandoned for more than thirty years.

Awesome! This looks like wicked location. One nagging thing though and I've been seeing it all over this site. Those damn pop up galleries are a bit obnoxious. But all the same, I loved the pictures. Thanks for sharing!

We were talking about that today. There's supposed to be a box you can uncheck. I found the box, unchecked it, but still wound up with the obnoxious pop-ups.

Good news. That is NOT a pool of blood. I can tell how it could be mistaken though. That is actually a pool of rust. It drips down from whatever metal it is leaking from and then when the water evaporates, the rust stays behind and dyes everything that color. The more and more it happens (over say thirty years?), it will just start looking like someone poured out a bottle of straight rust somewhere. So there's your explanation. Sorry if you were looking for it to be creepy. However, your welcome if you were hoping it wasn't.

Seriously? I need to look in the tub next time. Even if I find confirmation of your claim, how can I know it's yours? We saw a cat and a remarkably limber fox. There is poop everywhere. Plus there are other explorers.

Is there something in particular I should look for? Had you eaten corn recently? Is there anything about the shape that might stand out?

Ah, the hell with it. I'll take your word for it.

That is actually a pool of rust. It drips down from whatever metal it is leaking from and then when the water evaporates, the rust stays behind and dyes everything that color.

Thanks for the feedback. We did check the ceiling, which has sustained water damage throughout much of the building. But in the place I'm talking about, the ceiling is in good condition. The paint isn't even peeling. The building is funny that way. Sometimes you feel as though you're in the bombed-out ruins of a hospital out of World War II. Then you'll find a room in which time seems to have stood still. There are other puddles as well, in the same operating room. The other two are dry. I took a photo of one of them. The ceiling over this one is also in seemingly good condition.

But you're probably right, as our equipment did not detect any paranormal activity.
