Greetings from Deer Island

Hello everyone I'm new to this site, I think I understand the just of how everything works. I'm thinking about going exploring for abandoned houses and places sometime this week and I just thought I would show you where I might be going.

I have actually been in this house before when I was younger and I don't remember much about it but one thing that makes me want to check it out is that I found a old gun in it. I think this place will be a great place for pictures. I will try to have some pictures of the house uploaded next week.

This is one of the old ferries that was used to get from Deer Island to the mainland (Letete). The ferry is now grounded and has been sitting in a cove for I don't know how many years, I know I can get some shots of it sometime fairly soon, although it does have quite a bit of damage done to it, and it has some lobster traps laying around on it.

This is my signature. Your jealous.

It would appear to be right down near the US border in the Bay of Fundy

Have faith only in those who you trust. And hold who you trust close to you for you have no idea when you will need them most.

That house looks like it's ready to keel over. I'd watch my step in there, D-r.

Is that house sitting on an out of the way island or on Deer Island itself? The house and it's setting remind me of a cluster of islands near where I grew up, many of them with houses long abandoned on their shores, just like that one.

I've never had the opportunity to get close to them. To get to them you'd have to anchor and row to shore or risk hitting a rock.

I don't know. I doubt it though.

The website which I borrowed it from and failed to cite didn't make what they were clear.

I think it might be, I seen a map for Sable Island that was similar, the crosses were shipwrecks.

Edit: actually maybe not I just googled the sable island shipwreck map, they didn't use crosses... I wonder what the crosses are then? hmm

I don't think they're wrecks. I'm not aware of any wrecks in that area.. And if there are that many, I would be.. At least I hope I would be..

They could be shoals, sandbars, rocks, etc. possibly. That's just a guess but I think it makes a little sense.

Do a bit of boating with the family, I'm sure those are shoals/other underwater potential hazards.

The East Coast does have more wrecks than people give it credit for. Thats something I always wanted to try, hunting for old wrecks.
