Not very often we'll come across anything important enough to warrant contact w/ the authorities, but it does happen. I once tipped off the city about a clogged sanitary sewer that was overflowing into a nearby creek - by the amount of toilet paper and condoms littering the shoreline, it looked to have been going on for several weeks. They were surprisingly quick in their response, and dispatched a crew to fix it the very next day. |
that's very cool! regardless of some of the hostility I've been getting in this thread, I'm still convinced this is a valid hobby. And anecdotes such as yours terapr0 can go a ways to making cops think that you guys are all not the enemy. I'm pitching a magazine this week on this piece. It will also include references to some of the great photography and films that are out there, and I'd like to include your story as part of the pitch. I'm happy just to use your user name, that is if you're okay with my including it. If it's okay, any thoughts you guys on saying I read it on this site? I know it's public for any to find, but if the magazine buys this - and I'm being deliberately vague about which magazine for proprietary reasons - it'd be better journalism to include the forum name. Thoughts? [last edit 1/20/2011 9:09 PM by tribeachpunk - edited 1 times]

While anyone who can Google can read it, if you're going to reproduce something, make sure you've got permission and you'll be alright. I've seen our screen names referenced in articles on the hobby. And UER (the website) does get it's fair share of mentions in all kinds of things documenting UE. I did get your email and will do a proper reply tonight or tomorrow.
