I've been interested in urbex for a really long time, and I've done some tentative exploring on my own, but what I'd really like to find is somebody local with experience in this kind of thing who can be my jedi master and help me get started.
Take wrong turns. Talk to strangers. Open unmarked doors. And if you see a group of people in a field, go find out what they're doing. Do things without always knowing how they'll turn out. You're curious and smart and bored and all you see is the choice between working hard and slacking off. There are so many adventures that you miss because you're waiting to think of a plan. |

I recently relocated to northeast NC near Elizabeth City. If any members are located around those parts, I'd love to get together and do some exploring. I know of a few dilapidated spots in that tri-county area, but they're not necessarily worth exploring; at the very least, they wouldn't be safe to explore until after the first frost when the snakes and insects aren't around, as they're very overgrown.
Drop me a PM if you want to get coffee/beer and chat about things; there are plenty of rural spots to adventure. I'd even be down to drive to the Hampton Roads area for some legit urban/city exploration.
