|  | | | Hey guys, just looking for guidance here...
When should the 'make publicly viewable' box be checked? I just made my first picture post, and noticed the box when submitting.
I assumed that the 'public' threads were reserved for demolished sites, so I left the box unchecked as the site is still standing, but please let me know if I should do otherwise.

| | | | yeah, if it's in the publicly viewable location database then you can make it publicly viewable. If you don't name the location and don't hint as to where it is, then that can be made public too.

The box is used for full members to allow basic members to see the posts.
Demolished locations generally are made public as pointed out already.

I was under the impression only the OP and full members could see the thread if he made it non-public.
Only the regional boards have this option: everything in UE Main, Photography, Rookie, etc is publicly viewable.
