|  | | | So I was talking to one of my in laws and he told me about this place. It's no longer abandoned. But for about ten years in the nineties it was. Does anyone have any pics of this place from when it was abandoned? Here's a link for the wikipedia on it

| | | | My father actually worked there in his twenties. I know it's only open 1 weekend a year, and from what i've been told, it is locked up pretty tight the rest of the year and is privately owned by an elderly couple. I don't know how accurate this is.
Some cool stories about the place:
There was a bad cloud layer over the mountain one day, and a private pilot crashed his cessna into the mountain in the off season. When he stumbled out of the plane, the visibility was near zero, and he stumbled out of the plane onto the yellow brick road. It took authorities a few days to find him, meanwhile, he thought he died and was in some fucked up land of oz limbo lol.
They used to have some awesome original artifacts from the movie like dorothy's dress and some other stuff, but someone broke in and stole it all
