Halloween Chems

Me, my sister, and one of her friends took a trip today. This place was wayyy larger than I expected. Abandon since the mid 80's this chemical plant was national superfund site. Well not completely abandon... There is a nearby water treatment plant that we tried to avoid. Upon leaving there was a vehicle that almost spotted us, but a quick sprint and a dive behind some brush allowed us to hide from view. It had 3 levels to explore and a roof. Very easy to get around it and very minimal amount of vandalism for being so old. 1 mile hike through the woods, one short barbed wire fence, and tall one that was open. We decided to just walk out the front door and down the road about 3 miles to the car on the way back instead of back through the woods. I couldn't recommend that as a way to get there though. Trip on the 20th of November for anyone near Huntsville, AL. I'll be putting it on the event calendar soon.

I like the glowing door shot - perfectly creepy for a Halloween post. Cool to find the old paperwork and blueprints, yea?

Also, please number and/or title your images so we can refer to them more easily!

I think they were schematics, but I couldn't figure out what for. Didn't spend much time trying though. There was just too much exploring to do.

I'll number them right now.

That's not a bad problem to have! Finding schematics like that is my favorite sort of "jackpot!" moment, but to each their own.

Loved the B&W. Those pitch dark interiors are hard to photograph. Green room was insane, looks radioactive. Was that green corrugated fiberglass sheeting for windows? 29/30 make me feel good, Thanks.

Yup, that green plastic stuff. We thought we had been everywhere (a little bit of a maze inside) and then we walked by this glowing green room, WTF? lol.
