Vancouver's Old Streams

This is a book about Vancouver's streams. It's quite an interesting read so I thought I'd share it. I scanned every page and made a pdf. Here's the link:
http://www.scribd....uver-s-Old-Streams

I did not scan the map at the end of the book. However, I found a copy online. Credit goes to Bob_2006 on flickr for taking the time to digitize the map.

edit:
I uploaded it to megaupload as well. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WAFJ5U0M

Cool find and subject. Interesting how nature gets hidden in cities, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Bowker Creek here in Victoria is park like in places, underground in others, and just a large trench for some parts.

Wow, that site is really neat.
I'm looking forward for someone to discover the drain on page 19.

I nearly died trying to look for the hall of wonders- the ravine was crazy steep and I almost fell onto a piece of rebar.

And when you finally disappear, We'll just say you were never here.

Very cool. I used to play in Still creek by the renfrew community center in the 70's when
i was a kid. Had to get decontaminated once, when the union 76 gas station on the corner had leaky fuel tanks.

Jesus. That's wicked, glad you 'passed bar' as it were.

Next time you're in town, call 1 800 GCG ROCK.

Heya, I know absolutely nothing about Vancouver except that I'm going there this weekend to visit a friend.

This map intrigues me. Is there any place on the map of note that I must see? I'll probably only only be able to check out one or two at most.

Gravity, it's not just a good idea, it's the law.
