| | | Yea, I for the most part always explore alone. Been in touch with a bunch of you from around my way, but just can't quite seem to get the timing right to get together. Looks like I'll still be flying solo Though even when I travel/vacation anywhere in the US, or overseas, I've always choose to travel alone, so the local abandonment ain't no thing (though a bit more dangerous of course :o )

i didnt mind it after i got a bit further into the drain. i find its dangerous though cause theres no cell phone service in drains so if i get hurt, i'm in trouble. I much rather exploring with Acid_Punk as we did Gargantua and The malting silos.

| | | Always alone. If I had some friends that 1) I saw outside of school and 2) would be so foolhardy to go exploring, then that would probably change.
Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing. |

| | | It depends a lot on the location, if it is somewhere I have been before and feel comfortable with, I don't mind doing it alone. Depending on how safe the structure looks and the likelihood of bumping into gangs or other unsavory characters, I will enter some solo, but wait for fellow exploring buddies for those more dangerous locations.

Yes, it was a good experience. Haha I'd probably consider some exploring alone, but only places I've been before and know my way around.

| | | Constantly exploring alone, it's much more intense. The presence of others is a great way to make things more fun and lighthearted but walking through dark corridors alone with the wind howling outside and slamming doors, squeaking rusty fans, that's a delicate atmosphere that quickly disappears if you have someone else there to watch your back as you peer around dark corners to investigate some strange smell or sound. You feel less like a tourist and more like an explorer alone, I think.

| | | always alone. I always bring my headphones because i think i'll enjoy some nice background music while i explore or take a break but im so caught up in the moment i never use them. the atmosphere is always way better without people. I doubt I'd even agree to take people if they asked, of course they never do bc they think its weird.

| | | I usually go alone simply because most of my friends who would want to go with are usually busy or don't want to go. They don't enjoy it as much as I do. I also enjoy the autonomy that comes with going alone. I only have to look out for myself. If I go somewhere that is high profile though I definitely bring someone with me for the security.

| | | Mines are seriously dangerous to go in as it is, even with a group. To go in alone with nobody to get you help should you fall into a shaft could be a life ending experience. I've hit up buildings and drainage, that's it. Even then, safety in numbers bro.

| | | I've gone exploring alone many times as I like the atmosphere to be silent and calm, imagining what the place was like with people. when u have somebody talking to you you can't do that.

| | | I scout a lot and explore alone fairly often, but I'd usually rather not, and I'd never do a drain or a mine alone. That just seems unnecessarily unwise. If you've never explored alone... it really is a completely different feeling. I don't think I've ever been more alone than I am when I explore alone. This is both a good and bad thing.

| | | Exploring alone can be both a blessing and a curse. I didn't know what quiet was until I was alone in an abandoned farmhouse 20 miles away from any busy road, middle of winter. At the same time, I almost tripped down a flight of stairs, and that could have ended very badly in a flash with no one around.

|
I once got stuck halfway through a 3m air vent in an abandoned brewery waaayy back before I had a mobile phone, and even if I did have a phone on me I doubt I would've got reception down there. The whole site was converted to apartments maybe 8 years ago so I guess they would've discovered my dried up corpse about then.

| | | Posted by joekaprapsnap I have gone many times to a decommisioned highway. Its not dangerous and has great views of the city and very few people go there

I know that highway! I go alone more times than not. Though after meeting a few local people here, I've been going not so alone more lately. I like both. It's nice having someone with you, and it's nice being alone sometimes. Pros and cons to both really. I usually end up wandering off when I'm with others anyway for a few minutes at a time.
