|  | | | I'm planning to head up to the old concrete mill (I think that's what it was) that is in the woods by Concrete, WA. Anyone else been there? The pic I'm posting is of last time I was there (about 2 years ago).

Wasn't sure exactly where the mill was (although now I think I know) and thus didn't get to it, but I did check out the much larger mill off the main road. Anyone know the story behind that one? I have seen pictures of the other place, but not this one.
The interesting portion of the old school burned down, but there are still two remaining buildings. Some people live in at least one of them, though. There are a few cars with long-expired plates and an RV with a power cable running in through an open window.. Seemed a bit weird to begin with. As I was leaving a car pulled up in front. I asked the guy who got out about the building and, as he seemed to be going to the front door, if I might be able to go in to check it out. Surprisingly, he said "Maybe. Let me see if my buddy is home."
He had a very specific knock and the "buddy" unlocked the front door and stepped out with a big power switch in his hand that he seemed to be working on. He paid absolutely no attention to me until I asked if I could check the building out. He kindly said no; he has gotten in trouble with the others in the building before because he had let people check it out then they tell others and people start appearing, their stuff disappears, etc.
So, point is.. I probably wouldn't mess with it.

Unfortunately it burned down and then was demolished. Some kids were playing with a mattress lighting it on fire and putting it out and they thought they had put it all the way out when they left but apparently not.

It's a pretty cool spot to check out. I went down to Olympia yesterday and checked out a HUGE abandonment with my friend and my cousin. Pretty cool place also. Either me or my friend Mike will post pics of it in this section pretty soon. 
Good to know there is another Mill Creeker here.

| | | | I finally made it back out there today. Tried to get into the old mill that I posted photos of above, but as I was poking around I noticed a truck driving around inside and got out. Oh well.
Also, the old safety building(?) has a fence up around it now. Anyone know what is going on with it?
