Abandoned Attractions park- Stanley Bridge/Cavendish, PEI

This place has been up for sale for years- poking around it today I discovered you can actually still access the shuttle, and other buildings.

These are with my backup camera- ergo, only a few, and incorrect timestamps. I'm going back very soon, and will be taking many more- upstair are all these hands-on fun with science stations, and many have mirrors which will make for some interesting shots.

The creepiest thing was that those mannequins are the first things you see when you climb in- wasn't expecting them.

I went here when I was younger. Still one of the lamest places I've ever been to. I probably won't ever go back to PEI...it costs too much to go see potatoes.

Whoa...that park is abandoned now?!
I guess I should really pay attention to the whole post.
When I was there ten years ago, it was still active....and looked like it should have been abandoned.

I live up here in the summer- the best thing PEI has is long, isolated roads with very little traffic and no RCMP.

I have more pictures, and hope to put them up in the next couple days- I don't have a lot of time, sadly.

The park is abandoned, though the lawns are kept up- I assume it's still on the market. The shuttle model is a wreck on the inside though; I couldn't get into the giant white building that looks like a golf ball-locked up tight, and only two entrances w/ no windows- it's a bit of a fortress.

Oh; and rainbow valley is completely gone- it's now Parks Canada. Sandspit is still active, and there's a new theme park, Shining Waters.

Maze and I went to check out the Rainbow Valley one time a few years ago... Didn't work out but we did wander around the closed for the season Sandspits.

And NootZ, just admit you are an Anne of Greengables fan and we can all move on!

Chris...

We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit.

I remember being in that park when I was a kid, and that orbiter too. You're right nootz, it should have been abandoned years ago when it was in use ahahah.

Interesting..... I have never been to PEI it is the only place in eastern Canada that I haven't been to (I am originally for Newfoundland). A friend of mine once lived there and said it was quite boring, hence why I haven't been :p

What are the chances of that? I was just looking along there on google street-view Tuesday night when I was looking at a campground near Kensington! I was thinking that the shuttle looked kinda run down. Going to be there the first week of Sept.

I poked around this place last week on my way to tignish, I didn't have my camera with me, but it is worth it to stop if your on the area.

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!
