Mr. Blue and I keep finding old school Pepsi products. First was an old Pepsi can and on our last explore we found an ad in an old gas station.

The one thing that I have found in an abandonment and wanted to keep was an employee shirt at the same gas station. It was in a drawer and it looked brand new. Yes, I left it there but man, I wanted to wear that thing out!

I've found lots of stuff.

Could that be....nah, holy shit it is.

An old safe.

Surgical lights.

Foosball tables

Old shoe-shine box.

Old cash register.

Aerial picture of the Cali coast

A mock-up of a development that may never happen.

An abandoned sailboat.

Graffiti from the 40's.

This room was filled with thousands of film movies.

This is one of the small ones.

I've posted this before but this is the BEST thing I've ever found. One big-ass camera.

Oh man you too? A friend and I found out cities Christmas supplies in an abandoned retirement home, I guess they use the place to store the street light decorations. Odd. That or they're the old ones they don't use anymore.
Understandably so when I found it I looked at my friend and almost shouted, "I found Christmas!"

I found a train with a jet engine strapped to the back randomly while riding my bike twisted. I wouldn't have believed it if it weren't for the pics, I gotta dig them up.

Films Incorporated made educational films, I think. Where was this?

Funny you should mention that, I'm actually trying to get a 8mm projector working.

Oh good, my slow clap processor made it into this thing.

yeah I figured that out after we got home and googled it up. At the time though I had an image in my mind of the thing tearing ass down the tracks at 300+ mph lol

It's not especially cool, but we had to climb a barbed wire fence to get into one area and on the way out I found a hooked ladder. It made exit super easy and we just hopped right out, so I thought it was a pretty nifty find

Also, that cash register is so sick.

I hope you reported it, because people normally make those with black powder and that's very unstable.

I found the room full of films at the Fort Ord army base in Seaside Cali. I'm not sure if its there anymore.

Especially if there is a fare amount of humidity or moisture. Then it becomes even more unstable. Or it could be made from Mothballs and dish soap, which is about as unstable, except it becomes unstable more with time and the mix starts breaking down. Those things are best left alone, and let the pros deal with them.

I was shooting an old fort from the early 1800's. I had gotten maps off it from the national archives and followed a tunnel which was to lead to the ammunitions depot thinking I might find some shells or something. Well, instead when I got there I found piles of ripped up 1980's playboy's. Apparently I wasn't the first down that tunnel.

If your boots aren't muddy and your pants aren't ripped you did something wrong.

Coolest thing I've found happened this past weekend. An old school had a Honeywell VIP 7201 terminal:

IMG_4437

I'll just copy and paste my description of what it is / does from the Flickr page:

This was by far the best part of the explore, because the machine was actually on. During my first visit, I couldn't get it to do anything but display the config settings (next image), but I eventually got a username and password prompt.

It's a Honeywell VIP 7201 Terminal, typically used for controlling HVAC systems. There was a celsius to farenheit conversion chart on top of the unit and some temperature values burned into the screen, so I believe it was used to control the heating and cooling.

There was also a Cardinal MB2400EX modem attached which was typically used for controlling the security system. Next to the terminal was a security system hooked. It seemed to be connected by serial to the mainboard behind the terminal. There was also a security keypad mounted on the wall, so I believe this computer served the dual purpose of controlling the HVAC system as well as the security.

Controls for the phone system were also in the same room so it's possible at one time that the system may have helped control that as well.
