| | | http://www.cbc.ca/...nd-teens-fall.html Bags of recycling may have saved the lives of two teens who fell seven storeys down a dumbwaiter shaft in Vancouver on Thursday night, police say. The two 18-year-olds, along with two other teens, were on the rooftop of an apartment building on Comox Street, in Vancouver's west end, when the shaft gave way. "Two of them leaned against what they thought was a solid covering that wasn't [solid] and it led to a shaft that goes down seven storeys, a very narrow shaft," said Vancouver police Insp. John de Haas. "Fortunate for them is there's some bags of recycling … at the bottom on the cement floor, and those provided some cushioning. So fortunately, what we just have is some minor injuries." The two teens, a boy and a girl, were taken to hospital and treated for cuts, scrapes and likely broken bones, police say. It's not clear why the teens were on the roof. Tenants at the scene told CBC News access to the roof is prohibited, but people often sneak up there. Police are investigating. [last edit 7/2/2010 2:29 PM by MikeEBike - edited 1 times]

Sure smells like UE...
