| | SURFER NO MORE! < on 6/19/2010 3:26 AM >
| | | Alright so I've been a member of this site for a long long time and never seem to put anything up and contribute. Mainly because I never seen to have my camera with me when I happen upon something worth sharing. I should, however, soon remedy this =) I wanted to put something up, so here's something from Macon Georgia. I thought it was kind of cool because I was on my way up to Atlanta and ran through factory land. It looked like the majority of them were abandoned but I couldn't tell you one way or the other as it was a Saturday and...well most factories now-a-days that are still in *use* look abandoned. Anyway, I ran across this cool cemetery in disarray and took some pictures. One of the few times I had a camera! I also took pics from the outside of the factories, but I won't bother you with those as none of them are terribly interesting.

| | | Very interesting! Some of those graves looked like they were from 1846! Sweet!

| | | I like #3 for some reason. Couldn't tell you why.

That's what I found so odd. There is a pile of bricks with grass growing through, tombstones in disarray, and to be honest not that many burial plots for the area, yet someone is definitely comin' by takin' care of the grass =P Thanks for the comments guys! The camera is a Nikon Coolpix, I think. it's an older one I got for like 5 bucks at a flea market.

| | | Nice pics. I was just there the other day myself. That is the Cherry St. Cemetery, it is kept up by a local church. They have redone some of the headstones, but not all. Macon is a great place for cemeteries and factories. Rose Hill is a well known and very old cemetery that a lot of people go to. I'm wanting to check out some of these factories and mills, but I'm not going at it alone.
There is also an old monastery/grotto in the woods near one of the hospitals that is pretty interesting. [last edit 6/30/2010 8:17 PM by noid - edited 1 times]
