WHERE IS THIS EPICNESS?

42 is the answer to life, the universe and everything; it can answer this too, with a bit of googling.

The first rule to finding damn near anything,

is that YOU DO NOT ASK PEOPLE ON UER HOW TO FIND DAMN NEAR ANYTHING.

YESSSSSS!!!! it most certainly is!

Not that I haven't not or don't not ask people (figure that one out), but I've had better luck with not asking on the open forum, typically AFTER you look around on google/yahoo/Google Earth for a while and have done some homework.

We kinda do the fight club thing to look cool. On the other hand, I only share such priceless information with those who deserve to know. Many other explorers do the same after a while. Why? We're keeping the riff-raff out. If you can't find major projects like this you aren't our kind of people. The quest to find gives half the value of a place to us.

Spent 30 minute or so on google looking for terms I thought that would hit it, but didn't find it. Reread the original post and found it in less than 5 minutes on google maps. The lake must have been really low when the satellite pic was taken because you can clearly distinguish that it's the same bellmouth spillway that's in the pictures. The clues are all there and they point right to the general area where it would be. It's their forum and their rules so if they don't want names or locations given out then that's the way we gotta play the game as the new guys.

It's true. There are a lot of reasons not to share location information on these public forums, besides the fact that we are smug assholes. Shattering the dreams of young, enthusiastic explorers is actually kind of low on the list. Some things to think about:

-Law Enforcement Officers and Private Security Firms that have jurisdiction over some popular locations are known to frequent this site so that they can actively and/or passively prevent further exploration.

-Scrappers, vandals, and arsonists are known to frequent this site so that they can find places to scrap, vandalize, and/or arse.

-Naming a location in a thread makes that thread come up in Google searches for that name, something that property owners often do. Property owners can get pretty pissed off when they search for their property, and find a forum dedicated to complete strangers breaking into said property. (Property owners can include Governmental Agencies and Huge Corporations, organizations that have deep pockets and long memories).

I've never heard of what arsonists do being called "arse'ing" but for some reason, I like it.

Damn, that sounded wrong.

And, very good points you brought up.
