Why does Tacoma have a mining section in their GIS database? Are there mines under Tacoma? I know there are coal mines under Bellingham.

As the urban legend goes it sounds like there might be more than just train tunnels underneath Tacoma!
These articles mention a underground lake. It sounds like they have been polluting Tacoma's aquafilter. Maybe this is why the drinking water comes from a reservoir in the mountains.
