Went exploring with Gretschdiva Saturday and brought along the Beau's camera. 2nd time exploring and first time taking pictures. I posted some of the more artsy pictures here: (repeated a few here though sorry)
http://www.uer.ca/...d=1&threadid=78221
But wanted to share a few more! Straight off the camera no editing. I should probably get around to doing that, but I'm lazy!
Enjoy! Comments and Critic always welcome!
PS: I think I'm addicted now

It looks like ya'll had a lot of fun there. One thing I'd suggest is to check out some composition tips (They're scattered around here). Mainly I see rule of thirds and some overexposure (Blowing out whites is very easy). It's fine to have dark things, but part of the caustic tank disappears in a smear of pure white. If you were shooting on a program mode (P, TV, or AV I guess) try some similar shots at lower and higher exposures. Shooting full manual during the day is often overkill, just check that the picture review looks ok and adjust metering as needed. I find that dark is better than overbright, because you can almost always brighten a picture. Gretschdiva can give you some tips on editing, and it's often worth the time.

thanks for the tips! Unfortunately I dont get a lot of time to play with the camera! When I do have it its usually at Autocross so not a lot of different angles or anything to play with there! Hopefully I can drag him out exploring some or just steal the camera more often

Is the 8th picture a test-tube rack? It looks awesome; what is it?

It might be test tubes or something for water samples considering that this is a water treatment plant. I'm not an expert in this area but this seems like a good guess.

Not real sure what it is. They were too big to be test tubes. They were probably around 1.5liters, roughly. So I would guess something to collect samples as well.
