Old safeway in edmonton

so i've been doing some searching around and apparently, according to a couple people in the area, there is an old Safeway in a strip mall full of open businesses in a neighborhood on the south side. I gave the place a quick look around and didn't see any exterior cameras and they won't be re-leasing the building because its going to be demo'd to build a new apartment complex.
Now. I happen to have a brand new set of fancy lock picks in my possession, but i just got them and am somewhat lacking in proficient skill. Does anybody think it's worth it to explore the safeway after some serious practice with the picks? there doesn't seem to be a way in through the back as all entrances are firmly shut tight including the loading dock in the back. so picking is probably the best option to get in. assuming there's no alarm.

Sounds pretty risky- A lot of old grocery stores leave the alarm systems, as Ive discovered in the past. Im personally excited for this melt to be finished so I can hit some big storm drains for the first time!

I know the building you are talking about. Honestly I cant see it being that exciting.

That being said, lock picking tools is B&E no matter how you slice it. Get caught and thats what your looking at.

In all my UEing I have never had to use such tools nor be foolish enough to carry them let alone admit it on a public board.

It takes quite a while and a lot of good practice to get good enough at picking locks for it to be worth considering as a mode of entry.

Assuming the absence of an alarm is a bad idea. And just because you can't see any cameras doesn't mean there aren't cameras.

And you must be willing to toss your shiny lockpicks if the cops roll up.

If you have to ask this question on this board, it's not feasible.

well, I know this response may be a little bit late friends but this is indeed a very easy place to explore. If you picked the locks I'm sure sort of alarm would go off but the alternate entrances (I do not wish to get too specific) are free of use and faster although they require a wee bit of skill to reach.

Fairly unexciting in there though, for a while it was rather eerie though because they were storing unused hospital beds in there. Also, a butcher there died, took a knife to the eye and there has been some talk of there being ghosts within the building as there were many other incidents and accidents and problems keeping employees hired. These rumors are probably why I explored the building in the first place. However it was, overall rather bland except for the fear and excitement that came along with being alone in a "HAUNTED" building.
Worth a look around I suppose on a quiet Saturday but truly nothing spectacular. The most frightening part is the freezer and employee area, twas quite like a horror movie for me.
