| | | So far I've heard of a situation in Fairview involving a guy who's drunk and on drugs waiving a knife, a suicide call in Dartmouth, several MVAs, lots of names and addresses. Pretty entertaining. I used to listen to a scanner as a kid when my family had an ambulance business, back when ambulances companies were private. Very happy to stumble across this tonight.

It's a police scanner, I'm not the least bit surprised that they'd be saying names and addresses.

Yeah, fair enough, but streaming it makes it accessible to virtually everyone, rather than just to those who own scanners.

Uh, Police Reports are a matter of public record though, hey? So it's anyone with a scanner and anyone who can walk to city hall and get a copy. Chris...
We all had ostriches. My dad had an ostrich farm! I remember one day someone came in and said the high altitude bombing of Kosovo had been a limited success, so we all went out and celebrated… by killing an ostrich and boiling it in kiwi fruit. |

| | | HRM must be Halifax Regional Mounties?? I didn't even go there, as soon as I saw the link, I clicked on my home area. I haven't been able to turn it off. I've got six city's or so all grouped together, police, fire, rescue, coast guard. This morning has had fights, pursuits, crashes, heart attacks, diabetic seizers, missing manhole covers, hit and run......... I can't thank you enough for passing this along. I used to drive a tow truck, and would respond to all the P.D. calls for these agency's, That was 20 years ago. I've missed listening to the P.D. radio in the tow truck all these years, but never picked up a scanner. Sorry if your area is quiet, But to look at it in a positive light, at least nothing horrible is happening every two minutes.......... Stay safe.

| | | You're welcome! HRM = Halifax Regional Municipality The old City of Halifax amalgamated with some outlying suburbs and Dartmouth about 10+ years ago to become a new entity.. the HRM. Mounties/RCMP are responsible for areas outside of the municipality but you'll occasionally hear them on our feed. We have our Regional Police for the inner city. | | | I noticed when I drove the tow truck, that when anything really juicy was going on, they would send that out to a tactical channel, they would say all responding units go to green, or blue, or orange. Then they would disappear, and the channel would go back to normal traffic. That was always a bummer. I'm sure they still do something like that........
