|  | | | The first picture was taken inside the dredge at Torch Lake in the Keewenaw.
This one is somewhere under St Paul.
Both pictures where scanned in after being taken with a Minolta Maxxum 400si, which was killed along time ago from sandstone exposure. The other details, exposure, film, etc, I don't remember.

| | | | Its not really a building, more of a boat, that has half sunk near shore. It has a giant boom arm that sticks out and reaches the beach, which you use to get inside. There's a story/explanation and some outside pictures of it here:

| | | | I have fond memories of that dredge. I spent 5 years up at Tech climbing through all the old mining relics and a few old mines.
I've got a ton of old film shots from the dredge packed up somewhere. I shot all film when I was up there ... need to find those and make some scans!

Kind of looks like the beach at Gay. I seem to remember the some ruins like that near the old smoke stack.

I've been getting those odd borders on a lot of the negatives I've scanned. I don't know what's causing that. Does anyone else have any ideas?

| | | | I love the Keweenaw! I'm planning a trip come spring to hit a bunch of places up there. The beach ruins look like it might be from the Champion Mill in Freda. There should be some substantial stuff still in the area. At least a couple buildings and a probably a smokestack.
Those doors stay closed...staring...waiting...plotting. I must find out their secrets. |
