| | | Im going to hold off on this location for awhile. The precautions that are in place to ensure the site's safety are a little over my comfort level, and it would probably be best that I wait until I become more seasoned and skilled at doing this. Thanks for all the input and support ladies and gents, but this is just a personal call for me.

| | | There is a place like this near my house...I just rode my bike through it, that was a few years ago...and I'm still alive, lol.

| | | "corrosive/caustics, heavy metals, petroleum-based solvents and products from railcars, including animal fat". In all honesty, this sounds like your average abandoned industry site. If the EPA has already come and gone, I would say that the site is safe. However with the unpredictability of exploring an abandoned building in general, you should protect yourself with sturdy boots, perhaps a p100 respirator for asbestos, and COMMON SENSE. If you smell something odd or get lightheaded, get out. I currently work in an active building on a former steel mill site that is on property with the same classification as what you described above, minus the part about the animal fat, and I'm healthy as can be. Just be cautious and aware of your surroundings.
