| | | How does one save a location in Bing Maps in such a way that it gives you a link to a pushpin? Anyone care to write a tutorial?

Not sure...just make Bing doesn't end up dumping hours of time entering in little pushpins. I've seen it happen to others. Same on google maps. I've had that lose my maps. Any online mapping tools that I actually care about preserving the data in I used Google Earth so that can actually save and export my map to a file to store on my HD.
Edit: I've been informed that you can do saves out of Bing maps now. Nice. [last edit 1/4/2010 6:06 PM by trent - edited 1 times]

| | | They changed their layout. Go Here: http://www.bing.com/maps/ At the bottom of the frame on the right there are icons click the star icon "my places" You need to sing up an account (you don't need a hotmail, I used my gmail) If you search for an address or coordinates you can just click "save" and select a collection.

I can save OK, I just wanted to know how I can get a link to a saved location. Reason is, I want to e-mail some locations to a friend. I tried the e-mail link, but that opens up Outlook, which I don't use. I use web-based mail.

It opens up outlook "My Bing Maps list of places " and gives you a link. So copy and paste the link?

That worked, thanks. I was avoiding setting up Outlook because I don't have a non-web mail account, but I was able to set it up without one. Thanks!
