Those are some impressive shots. It's all about how the feature is used, you see poor use of fish eye, and you see pics like these, which are stunning. It's not the lens, it's the person using the lens. I mean, you can have poor wide angle lens pics and you can have great wide angle lens pics. Personally, I haven't seen fish eye pics that have impressed me until now.

I have to admit that when I first bought the fisheye, I didn't think it would be so broadly useful.

I made one for my old VHSc camcorder many years ago. I went to a local photo store and they said "well, those start at $300." I promptly went to their "junk lens bin," got some sort of old SLR or camcorder lens for $5. The rear lens element fit perfectly, and there was only minor vignetting. It was concave on one side and convex on the other, maybe it would have looked better if it were convex on one side and flat on the other, I'm not sure.
