Cool! Can you be any more specific than just "colorado"? Do you know what the place used to be, or what company owned it?

The building itself is in Lakewood Colorado, and literally in the middle of nowhere. no roads leading up to it, nothing. and the only word on what it used to be is a binder that we recovered that says department of transportation word processing center users guide on the front, and the latest date is 1990, were guessing it went abandoned at about that time.

the dark is never a bad thing.

yeah, the place is pretty trashed, there was a fire, and very destructive people just destroyed the place.

I know a place just like this in denver, i tried squating it until a year or so ago, i dont have many pictures though and the ones i do have are shitty but it has some very unique graffiti as well

the building was also in much better shape though, it was like 3 factories that were connected together and the history behind it was super weird. To sum it all up it was a plastic manufacturing plant that later become a dog care facility and was also a art studio and office/nightclub

Sick is more right than you think. That used to be one of the old bioweapons labs. They filled munitions there before being sent to the Rocky Mountain arsenal. You might want to get checked for that. That was Station L.

recently from all the documents that we have looked at have lead us to believe that this building used to be a Word processing center. but we have been wrong before, when we went to an abandoned swimming pool in Englewood, we found blueprints for an apartment complex in Denver.

so far the only good graffiti there is on the outside, and there isn't very much of it. we still aren't sure why this building is abandoned, but there is a lot of fire damage, and all the documents have either been burned or suffered severe water damage and are illegible to read. the only thing that we have found is a fire damaged users guide to the place. and the company that used to own the building is the Colorado department of transportation. there were key boards and monitors on the machines and there were several ancient computers the size of mini fridges. so we are pretty sure that this place is a word processing center. and why it went abandoned, we still aren't sure. the fire is likely to have happened after it went abandoned. also we found at least two rooms that we know of with asbestos, which also might have been a cause for abandonment.

yeah I've found quite a bit of blue prints my self, I like hanging them on my wall but I really havent managed to do anything useful with them. There are quite a bit in the basement of my school, which is an older building itself.

The best graffiti at dogtopia was sort of outside, Since it was 3 separate warehouses combined it was in area that combined them, really great stuff

asbestos, dont they usually have huge warning signs at every entrance to a building if its contaminated? and i dont think they would purposefully set it on fire if they had known although i remeber at gates and the hospital they just had the contaminated areas sealed off

Sometimes, but I sure as hell wouldn't count on it.

Edit: And if there's friable asbestos (i.e. the shit you can breath in) it's usually fairly obvious (e.g. scattered all over the floor, falling off pipes, out of walls, etc.)

well I personally have never been in a building thats for real abandoned I think those are very rare generally everything over here is still owned by something like these people http://www.fullercompany.com/ so they have to go through regulations or something I assume to warn people about law violations/contaminations you might get if you go on the property
