| | | Did you google map/streetview every single one of the locations? |
Actually no, that was the only one I looked up because I thought "Dry ice factory? Sounds cool" and then I thought "Hey, I remember driving down Walnut Street..." And voilà.

| | | Hey folks, I want to make sure I have all the info I need for this exciting event. The dates I have on my calendar are: April 17-18. I saw the list of places to explore, I had no idea there was so much in Denver. Will we be exploring all of this in just two days? Also, when I went to OPEX in Buffalo a few years ago we met at a diner/park/etc every so often to regroup. Will this be a similar type of event? If I can help in any way let me know. I can't wait for Doors Open Denver 2010! Also, when I went to Buffalo I had a van to live out of for a few days, unfortunately those van days are over so I might need a place to stay. OR.. at least the name of a cheap motel that is conveniently located.

| | | I doubt all the locations can be done in two days... I'm sure there will be at least a couple of UER groups that do things together, but nothing is set in stone. I'm not sure about local cheap hotels... but it might be worth staying at a place a little bit out of downtown somewhere along the light rail so you can use that to zip downtown.

| | | i think everyone should look at the link a few posts up. this isn't just a simple UE free-for-all hosted by denver. it's just a way for people to check out more about buildings around the downtown area in denver that they normally wouldn't get to check out. think of it as doing only live sites with permission, and in groups, and not covertly.

| | | Haven't heard much recently about organized groups for this year. I've done doors open denver a number of years now so to switch things up a bit I think I'll do Victorian / Steampunk tour: Steam the Doors Open, Denver - listed on facebook as an event Denver is hosting their annual Doors Open Denver project, in which many historic buildings open up to the public. The date is April 17th. We shall meet at the Union Station downtown (I recommend riding the light rail to get there, it will save you a lot of parking money), and take a walking tour in our steamy attire to visit a good number of these locations. You can get details here: www.denvergov.org/doorsopendenver NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES and CLARIFICATIONS OF DETAILS: We will be meeting at Union Station light rail station at 11am. If you want to travel as a group to this location, some of us will be meeting at the Broadway and I25 light rail station. The E-line train (do not board any other train!) leaves at 10:45 and parking (as long as you are not parking overnight) is free. Link to train itenerary: http://www3.rtd-de...ound&serviceType=1 We will meet at Union Station and wait there until 11:15am for stragglers, then we will continue on our path. The PDF map can be found here: http://www.denverg...uments/2010Map.pdf I recommend printing a copy of the map. We will be hitting the following locations in this order (numbers correspond to numbers on the map): 1 Denver Union Station I 32 Denver Society of Model Railroaders I 33 Platte Valley & Western Model Railroad Club I 34 Denver Fire House #5 / Shears Adkins Architects I 36 Rockmount Ranch Wear I 37 Tattered Cover Book Store - Historic LoDo I 38 Alliance Center I 40 The Sugar Building I 39 Roth + Sheppard Architects I 42 Skyline Park I 49 Colorado Business Bank I 46 Daniels & Fisher Tower I 41 16th Street Mall I 48 Larimer Square - The Granite Building I 51 Design Workshop I 52 DHM Design I 56 Newman Center for Theatre Education I 53 Hotel Teatro I 55 The Curtis I Afterwards we will retire to the Rack & Rye pub to partake of their happy hour and lower priced appetizers. We are planning to be there at about 3 or 3:15 (the start of their happy hour on Saturdays), for those of you who wish to forgo the walking. The address for the Rack & Rye is Rack & Rye Pub address: 1320 15th Street, Denver, CO 80202, just 4 short blocks from our last open door. We look forward to seeing you there! Bring your walking sticks and photoetheric devices!

| | | If your not trying to spend alot on a room there are plenty of motels and hotels in Englewood off the light rail and hords of places off Colifax. Just be aware most are dumps and are drug and crime infested...no bull. I stayed in a couple when i fist moved here for about 4 day...exciting. Especially when you go out your door in the morning and theres a 4 foot puke stream on the ground. Oh yeah check for needles in the foot of the bed bafore you go to sleep!

| | | Aw, come on! Colfax isn't that bad! (ok yes it is--depending on what part) There is a Ramada on Colfax and Marion that isn't too seedy. My roommates grandparents always stay there when they come to Denver. Don't know the rates there though.
