| | | Stopped and snapped a few of the old lime kilns right off of route 61 near Hurstville Iowa. Sign said it went through 100 cords of wood per day and made 1000 barrels of lime per week. I imagine working here was a hot miserable job.

There was a security grating torn off one kiln but I didn't go inside I had just pulled off to get some quick pics. I'm not sure how large the interior is.
