The old flour mill in Longmont burned down saturday night .Two Boulder teens where arrested for starting the fire . The mill was 93 years old and had been abandoned since 1979 . This story is the reason UE'ers get such a bad rap! Damn Kids!! I will post some pics of what is left of the building soon.

That's so sad I only made it once, the day after Christmas. I can't believe a couple of dumb kids could case that much damage. We keep saying "it can't happen here"...

Yeah that photography is amazing. The likes of which I've never seen for a newspaper, especially a small town paper. That's exactly the kind of photojournalist I want to be.

Longmont is "small" compared to Denver, but it's almost as big as Boulder now...about 85,000 people. Boulder has something like 92,000 (they've lost population in the past 10 years).
http://en.wikipedi...ado_municipalities shows that Longmont is the 13th largest city in Colorado (out of 271) - just before Greeley (Boulder is #11). Small town not! It's cool that there are over 125 towns in Colorado with under 1000 people...Colorado trivia fact o' the day...
I lived in Lyons for about 12 years - 1600 people in the town. THAT is a small town! (It's number 112 on the list). If someone sent me mail with the wrong address, it would get to me anyway because the USPS employees in Lyons seem to know all the "regulars".
There do seem to be a lot of "unused" buildings around Longmont...

Okay well I stand corrected. But still, what's that guy doing working for a medium circulation newspaper? I'm sure he gets his photos published all over the place.
