Identical landscape

Finally got into the Denver Hotel and it was fun although its a barren landscape of its former self. It was quite a surreal experience knowing that in a matter of days, this hotel will be gone with the sweep of progress and change. Its been stripped of itself, but for the people that made it home for a night, its memory will stay intact for now....

"Ruins are the visible symbols and landmarks of our societies and their changes...the volatile result of the change of eras and the fall of empires. This fragility leads us to watch them one very last time: to be dismayed, or to admire, it makes us wonder about the permanence of things."

Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre.
