Explorations in Tampa and Ybor

This is not my first post here, but its close to it. My only other post has been in the introduce yourself thread, and after plenty of reading and learning and lurking I decided it was time to post something that can be interesting and hopefully new to some people. Hey, maybe Id even learn about something cool in the Norfolk or Hampton Roads area in return, who knows...

This first post of my adventures will be about one of the biggest finds our group has ever had, and it was during a road trip to Florida we took this december. We first spent the day exploring Tampa, we found a freight yard with trains and climbed a few buildings while we were there.

After that we moved onto exploring the historic Ybor and found the entrance to this incredible building. We determined it was an old cigar factory and part of it was an old restuarant and theater. The door was open and the inside was amazing. There were old props and costumes everywhere, there was roof access, there were multiple levels and tons of old things to go through. It was one of the biggest places weve explored, especially in broad daylight. That also meant there wasnt too much time for photography as there was so much to explore.

Anyway, if you have any questions about finding these places, Im not sure how exact of directions I can give you as Im not from the Florida area, but if anyone else has explored this place let me know.

Peace.

Make sure to check out Ybor when youre in Tampa. The latest news I have though is that the warehouse we explored is now locked with a pad-lock, but there are a ton of other places to explore there. We got on the roofs of about 4 different buildings with ease.

And what do you mean post them normal size? I wasnt sure what the best way to upload pics was so I just assumed the quick gallery creater was the defacto standard.

Peace.
