| | | Hey Took these today, im not that happy with them but i figured uploading and getting feedback is better than scrapping the pictures. Havent posted here in quite a long time, hope everything is well with everyone. Anyways id really like some feedback on these pics. The ones done in hdr are labelled accordingly. And if youre just going to tell me theres too many pictures to critique, you can a. gtfo this thread or b. pick a few to crit. I hope those people pick the latter. edit: these were shot with a nikon d40, 18-55, iso200, tripod/remote Pics: 1.

I have never been lost, but I will admit to being confused for several weeks.

| | | Good images and HDR technique but personally I think the subject matter is poor. I'm not a fan of the lonely chair, light switch, rusted gear type shots unless there are other shots along with it that put the close-up shots in perspective. I'm not interested in an old box in an abandoned store unless I can see more of the store other than a series of close-up shots that can be unrelated to all the other shots in the series besides they are taken in an abandonment. It looks possible this location was too small for more expansive shots in which case you did the best you could in the situation. When you go exploring do you go to see the boxes and plugs or do you explore the location and soak it all in? I want to see more of the whole location and if you toss in a few shots of the wall socket its OK. Otherwise one lonely chair, old box, wall socket is pretty much just like any other. | | | grey, you make a really good point. ive been accused of not taking the whole location in. here though, i tried to take pics all around the location. i entered the door, walked up the stairs seen in pic 6, turned left into the room seen in pic 4 and 9. if i turned right at the top of the stairs, there was a small area seen in pics 3 and 5. i think youre right when you said the location might have not been very large. the place was small so i tried to show the space in pics 3, 4, 5, 6, and 9. the others i tried to take more close up, detailed shots to show the details of the location btw the lower floor was absolutely stripped so not very many photo ops there =[

| | | new pic up (pic 10) i wasnt going to include pic 10, but i figured i would because of the space thing. not complaining about my gear at all or making excuses, but has anyone else seen some barrel distortion at 18mm on the kit lens? | | | A mixed bag here, but here goes: l. Love the little eye-tie flags 2. Pretty sure same guys built my house 3. Expecting someone to walk into the pic. 4. OK now it looks like a balloon shop 5. The eye moves in a circle drawn by the angles. Nice 6. SoSo 7. All angles w/one round subject. Good 8. Captures the "closed" aspect of the shop. Good 9. Nice "inside/outside" contrast. I'm no photophile, but you shot some thoughtful stuff here.

| | | For what it's worth...and I'm not a photographer at all...but I try to document the experience of the exploration, rather than look for shots that will look good on the website. When you talk about the problem of taking the whole site in, I have tried to take a picture for every head turn I had.. If it were interesting enough to catch my eye, it might be for everyone else. Does that make sense?
