I've always enjoyed the solitude and sense of loneliness the forgotten towns of the great plains offer.
Your photos give a good warmth yet subtle mystery to the place. Well done.
I've never been there myself, it is still inhabited, right? Did you run into anyone?

We havea similar looking water tower here in Calhan... I'm gathering that this design is very common in this area and in the Great Plains.

The historic buildings are abandoned but I met a couple of folks who live in a trailer just to the south of the historic town. They said that the last permanent residents of the town left in 1999 but that some new houses will be going up in the area soon.
