| | | These are just a few of 103 shots that I took with my new Canon Rebel XTi DSLR. I went to this factory by myself at night, in my city. These are one of the very first shots and attempts at photography and using an SLR. But not one of my first times UEing... (Images are scaled down. For some reason when i upload the images onto the internet the quality seems lessened, as if compressed)

| | | Looks like a nice place to explore, however the shots just look like you point and shot. Nothing of any real interest. IMHO Try focusing on a subject of interest. [last edit 9/7/2008 9:18 PM by flux - edited 1 times]

| | | I used an 18-55mm lens. For each shot I used a single focal point to focus on a subject, like the wheelchair shot for example. I aimed the right focal point to the damn chair to get a nice blurred background but for some damn reason I just can't get it to work. I'm going to have to keep practicing this shit. It's somewhat annoying especially when you're new to this shit.

I was waiting for that too. As for being a point and shoot photographer, that's exactly how I take mine. I'm trying to focus more on subjects and angles though, with the help of more experiences photogs on UER.

| | | I like the idea of the second one. I would have maybe tried to crop out some of the sides of this one. Hehe just me though, I am an exploring picture taker. Not sure I will ever be a photographer.
A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind. |

If you want to really blur your backgrounds your going to need a faster lens. The kit lens is ok, but you can only do so much with it. If you want an object in the foreground to be focused, then its cool to shoot with a larger aperture, but when your shooting landscape type shots you need to stop your aperture down so you get a bigger focal plane, which means more of your picture is sharp. not sure how fast your shutter was, but shooting on a tripod will definitely help out.
