Ok so i'm bored and i have noobitis,been screwing around with photoshop trying
to make a photo look old,questionoes anyone know how to add color to a pic after it has been grayscaled? would like to have added oranges and browns to the fake watermarks.

Your trouble might be the method you're using for greyscaling - if you've ended up with an image in Greyscale mode, you won't be able to use colour at all. Open the image, and try Image -> Mode -> RGB, and see if that resolves your issue.

Depending on which version of Photoshop you're using, there are umpteen different ways to render the thing in monochrome in the first place, but that's another story.

Open the original color photo and duplicate the layer go to image> adjustments> gradient map and make sure you have black as your primary color and white as your second color. This will turn the photo black and white. Then you make a layer mask and paint over the areas you want to be color with a soft black brush. When you get the look you want merge layers and your done.

Or if your trying to do some hand painted thing. Make a new layer for each color, zoom in as much as you can and simply paint. Adjust opacity and blending options to taste.

thanks for the replies,i did the gradient command,then checked the reverse
box so it wasn't a negative,then added a layer.and i know how to add color to a b&w....
now for a lot more practice...thanks again
