thanks guys, the colors were like that in all the pics but i got a little photoshop happy lol. usually if i post up a set i like the pics 90% of the time but here i think my post processing took away from the pics since they were so bright before. i might redo a couple without the vignetting and sepia tones though.

keep em cominnnnn =]=]

are you using the kits lens? the one thing that stands out is the barrel distortion on these, might want to keep an eye on that it can be very distracting.

your exposures look solid, i would stay away from the post processing vignetting, sometimes it looks good, but you have used it quite a bit in this post and it again, becomes very distracting

my only other criticism is to mind your lines when composing a shot, some of these are interesting photos but the crooked-ness detracts from it

I don't really like the vignetting, but they are pretty.

Since Jeff brought it up, get one of these http://search.ebay...ypage=search&fgtp=

Personally, I think option 'a' has much more character that option 'b'. These are some great shots man, good job.

I like these a lot!

And Nikon is definitely for the win! I love my D300.

..now if I could only get the D300.

I LOVE the super long shot with all the windows.

I really like the vignetting, but ive always been partial to the Diana/holga plastic lens look. Well done

Totally off subject: I own the Nikon D40, but my 18-22mm lens broke. So I use a 28-200mm. Seems to work out great, but miss those 18-22mm days.

Back on subject: They're all good. I think tho, that 9B is the best of the two, as it has more contrast and eye-catching material in it. Plus with the pano mode, it really gives the location character, rather than 9A which took out some contrast and color.

My two cents. Great job with the D40!

I really like the comps, but don't like the vignetting in every one of them. Usually vignetting works better when it isn't in the corners of a bright sky imho. Apart from that, great comps and ditto colours.

The first one wins for me. I love Packard.

I read last week that someone bought the arch over the old packard building in Detroit. My hometown, Warren, Ohio, was the first place Packards were built (I think), and they have a museum. Evidently there's a Packard museum in Dayton, too. That's who got the arch. Why two Packard museums? Did Dayton even have a plant? Southern Ohio=forever looking up.

You betcha

I'm personally a Canon person when it comes to digital, but you seem to know how to get some really nice shots from the d40. I don't really know if this is a good or bad thing, but all of the pictures remind me of what I'd see on a postcard.
