	This is a former industrial site with various industrial usage in the past. This is what some incorrectly refer to as "factory ham" which has absolutely nothing to do with the facilities or their prior usage. Despite what the incorrect name suggests, it had nothing to do with meat processing. It was mainly a heavy industry site with the most recent usage being a hazardous spill clean up operator. According to Oregon DEQ, it dates back to at least 1900. In the 1970s, the site was used by Riedel which ran a hazardous waste spill clean up. I guess it closed around 1986. It is home to nearly 50 industrial operations since 1900. A section of property is owned by the city and the remaining section by a private company. Developers want to make it into a ship building site, The University of Portland wants to expand its school to the site and the neighbors are opposing to industry development. As of now, the shell of a few derelict storage and industrial buildings stand as is while the stakeholders are having disputes over land use. The land is contaminated with PCBs, asbestos, heavy metals, dioxins and a ton of other nasties from prior industrial operations. There was a crane sitting around open to exploration some time ago, but the crane is gone and there's really not much to explore now. Out of three buildings, the two are not even worth exploring. One's just a shell and the other one is a lame barn with nothing in it. The slightly interesting building has a small basement that's basically a concrete basement with dirt floor with every square inch of the surface severely vandalized. All in all a boring site.
